ANYTHING!

I am so happy that school is almost over, but I am dreading finals! I can't wait for christmas, but it doesn't feel like  christmas time at all. I am really going to miss computer class next semester! I am not looking forward to speech. it's just going to be another class that I have to prepare for. Computer was nice because everything was done during class. I don't know if I will finish this Life project for finals or not! I hope so... I'm actually kind of excited for our basketball game tomorrow because it's "pack the house" night or "Superfan" night and we're playing Richwoods at PND! So hopefully that goes well. And we have a team dinner tonight at Katie's!!! Excited? O yes. Tom's reading this right now as I write it, so maybe he'll stop eventually... Umm well I guess this is our last blog post! Byee!

This is the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center in New York City, New York. It's put up every year and lights up the whole area. Many people go to see it. I've never been there, but would love to.

Winter Season.

I like winter for the most part. It's definitley not my favorite season, but I like it- most of the time. I LOVE December and I think it should just snow all the time in December. If it's going to be cold, it might as well snow. Although the snow is nice, after about mid-Janurary, I want it to be spring! I am so sick of winter, snow, and the cold by the end of January. I'm very happy it snowed today though! And I hope it stays white all during December! But I also hope that this winter is a short one.

Thanksgiving.

As Thanksgiving comes around, we are all usually asked what we are most thankful for. As for me, I'm thankful for alot of things. The number one thing I am thankful for is my family. Immediate AND extended. I don't know what I would do without my entire family. Following my family close behind would be my friends. I'm so thankful for my best friends and friends. They make school so much more enjoyable. I'm thankful, also, for all my belongings and where I live. I'm thankful for the talents and abilites I'm blesses with and the freedoms and opportunities I'm given. I am very thankful for my experiences and the lessons I have learned throughout my life so far. I am thankful for the experiences, opportunities, memories, and laughs I have had, but most importantly, the people around me whom I have shared them with.

Newscast Project

Well, I can't say that I really enjoyed doing the newscast project. I hate listening to myself talk and I hate watching myself on screen. Mine and Kristin's newscast isn't even finished yet! For some reason our video won't send to Mrs. Brown's email, so after I'm done typing this, I have to go and email it to myself and hopefully I'll be able to open it up at school and get it finished. I wish it was already done, but it's not. We have to add the video and then add the jingle things, THEN we finally can turn it in! Also, it's taken a while because the first two days I opened the iMovie thing, our video wasn't there.

Political Cartoon

Hahaha. Well I thought this was funny because the cartoon is demonstrating how Sarah Palin was anything McCain wanted her to be. Even if it wasn't true, she went along with McCain, even if the Republican team contradicted themselves or looked bad.

My Invention

An invention I would create would be the fridge-a-wave. It's similar to the microwave, but its the opposite. It turns things cold, not hot. You would never have to leave something in the refrigerator overnight because you would have the power to make it cold and let it set in like 10 minutes at the most! Also, any food that you wanted colder or cooler could be in a shorter amount of time. 

Inspiring Picture

This picture of Micheal Phelps and teammate Garret Weber-Gale celebrate after the USA men's 4x100 meter relay team beat France for the gold medal. It was a big upset and I know it's not the most inspiring picture ever, but it's inspiring because it kind of showsa how unexpected things can be done. Hardwork, determination, passion, drive.

Podcast Experience

Well, I thought the podcast was easy to do, but the topic was hard. I never watch scary movies. I was going to do my podcast on Titanic becasue I hate that movie and it probably IS one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. But the I remembered that I have seen Amityville Horror which was pretty scary. Even though, I'm like a major wuss when it comes to scary stuff. I hate it. So I thought the podcats was kind of hard to write because I probably didn't even see the whole movie because I was probably hiding under a blanket of something because I was too freaked out!

A Valuable Lesson

Well, there's been many times when I've learned a lesson from something. One that I distinctly remember is when I was about 7 years old? Maybe? I'm not really sure...Anyway, my mom told me to make my bed, and I was really bad at it. I had just learned how to and I hated doing it because I thought it took too long to put the pillows on my bed, and it was rather difficult to pull the sheets on my bed. Nevertheless, I was trying to make it and I thought that maybe I could just take the sheets off and put them in the dirty laundry and then my mom could just make the bed for me. So I did that like 5 times in a row. My mom figured it out and eventually just said I had to do the laundry myself. The lesson I learned is that sooner is better than later and if you put somethin off it will come back worse in the end.

Upcoming Report Card

I honestly am not too excited for my report card. It's not bad, but I wish it was better. I hate the classes where your grades don't change at all unless they go down. No es justo. It shouldn't be like that. It's classes like that that make me not want to go to school. Anyway, I guess my report card will be pretty good. You can't do much more than your best. If you work hard, you'll get the grades you deserve. So, I'm not too happy with my upcoming report card, but I tried and did the best I could so I guess you can't do much else?

10-25 Things I want to do in My Lifetime

I want to visit Italy(1), visit Australia(2), and visit England(3) the most. I want to go to Seaworld and swim with dolphins(4) and I want to go to Disneyworld(5) because I've never been there! I want to learn how to surf(6), sail a boat(7), and successfully waterski(8) :) haha. I want to have a big family when I grow up(9) and have great memories from high school and college(10). I want to go to state for soccer and do well(11), and learn how to do the around the world thing with a soccer ball(12). I want to get married(13), go to the olympics(14), and visit New York(15) and California(16). I want to learn how to do the designs that people do on wedding cakes(17), and I want to adopt a baby from another country when I get older(18). I want to do something, that I don't know of right now, when I'm older that is extraordinary(19). I want to be happy(20).

Peoria Logos

I like how Peoria is getting a different logo, but I don't even remember what our current one looks like? Anyway, I voted for the 2nd logo first, then the 5th, then the 7th one last. I liked the 2nd because it's really colorful and it might make Peoria look somewhat interesting. I liked the 5th and 7th logos though because they kind of showed Peoria as being a bigger city then what everyone thinks it is. The 5th one I like more though because it's colorful and more modern. The 7th one is kind of old time, but then again, that's kind of why I like it.

Halloween Costume

Well...I don't really know what my favorite halloween costume would be. I might not even be in town for Halloween which is terrible, but oh well. Anyway, I think one of my favorite costumes would have to be a leprechaun, because I loved my and Emily's twin day costumes. Those hats were the best... I like it because they were comfortable and easy to make and wear. They stood out and if we didn't have to wear our school clothes they would've looked even better!

~The University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish beat the Stanford Cardinals in football this past saturday. They are now 4-1! Also, women's soccer is ranked #1 in the country after beating Southern Florida this past Friday at South Bend!

iPhoto Project Process

Well, I have not started on my iPhoto project yet, but I'm sure it will be fun. Last week I was working on my Newsletter with my group and we just never got to it. Also, I wasn't here Friday. I'm excited to start the iPhoto project because it sounds fun. It sounds like it will be more interesting than doing the powerpoints and spreadsheets. Also, I hope it's somewhat easier to figure out. I may need some help on it. I could barely figure out how to do the keynote powerpoint things. (I would really like to see those done by the way). Anyway, I'll start the iPhoto project tomorrow. P.S. ONLY 4 DAY WEEK THIS WEEK!

Newsletter on Homecoming

Now this blog post is about the progress we have made on our Homecoming Newsletter. Well, it says on the website that the Newsletter was due on the 26th? Well I really hope that isn't true because we are not too far along. Homecoming just ended yesterday right? Anyway, we have two out of the four of our articles written and we have the template picked out and we know exactly what were going to do with it. I have some great pictures from Twin Day and some pictures from Homecoming, so hopefully I will be able to figure out how to download those pictures onto the Macs.

Nurturing our Physical Development

This week we are to post how we are going to nurture out physical development. Honestly, after reading the mission statement twice, I really dont know how I'm going to do that. I can't really tell now if I'm going to grow taller or physically change in any way. I guess though I'll try to nurture my "physical development" by trying to stay healthy this year because I hate missing school because of sickness. Also, by trying to stay fit and not to get injured at all. Especially not during soccer season! I hope I never tear my ACL!

Homecoming Newsletter

Hello!!! New Topic: Thoughts about the homecoming newsletter. Well our class hasn't really started working on it, but it sounds fun. I'm doing it with Emily O'Neill and Kaitlyn Schlink. So we haven't really decided what articles each of us are writing either. We're all supposed to write two or three articles I think having to do somewhat with homecoming. Also, the project is supposed to be on Pages. I don't remember if we have worked on it or not, all the Mac programs sound familiar to me. See ya!

Nurture the "intellectual" spirit?

Hello everyone. Well it's 5:46 right now Sunday night, and I have had a great weekend!!! How about everyone else? So this week we are supposed to write about how we are going to nurture our intellectual spirit I think. Well, I shall try that by just trying to do my best in all my classes. I think I'm going to need to do a bit better in Laird's class beacuse I think I like failed the test Friday. I'm sure many people could relate...Anyway I'm going to just try to study hard for all my tests and do all my homework and just work hard.

Now, we have to post another comment on our saint powerpoints. I'm doing Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. She's not really a saint, but she's very close to becoming one. Her canonization is pending. Anyway, it's not that different working with powerpoint on a Mac compared to powerpoint on a PC. It was different working with the storyboards, but powerpoint is more familiar. My powerpoint is exactly eight slides I think and I am not looking forward to presenting it.

Well, right now it's sunday and I'm doing my homework and apparently we have to post a comment on how we are going to nurture our emotional development this year at school according to our mission statement. This year, I'll try to nurture my emotional development by making good friends, keeping up with school, and trying not to stress out. Also, by trying to stay happy and positive and not being negative.

Okay, I found out today what Mrs.Brown meant about all the posts and comments, and I have to post one right now about the Peoria Notre Dame Mission statement and how I'm going to try to nurture my spiritual development this year. Well, our mission statement is "teaching the Catholic faith and leading students to be Dicsiples of Christ" and "teaching the arts and sciences in a climate of academic inquiry." Well, I guess I shall try to nurture my spiritual development by mainly trying to be the best person I can be. For example, like trying to be patient with school and sports, being respectful, responsible, caring, and trying to apply good works to every single day.

Well, it's almost 5:00 pm and I officially hate Mondays. I'm studying for three tests for tomorrow and I am not enjoying it. As for computer class, I like the storyboards we're making. They look like they will turn out pretty neat, but I don't know how to use the transitions or how to add the music! I think we need to take an entire class period and learn how to do all of that stuff because I am totally lost! Also, I really like how air conditioned the computer room is.

Hello! Welcome to my blog!
~My name is Tricia and I'm a sophmore in high school writing this right now at 7:10 pm. I made this for my 8th hour computer class. We have been working with Macs and have discovered many new things. I think the best is the little camera on the top of the screen! Anyway, we searched banned books, used numbers to make spreadsheets, made blogs like this, and are now working on storyboards. I think our class is moving a little fast, and we need to take it a little slower so everyone is on the same page. Comment my blog!
